There are a number of ways you can earn money from your channel. If you’ve been approved for the YouTube Partner Program (and are in compliance with YouTube Partner Program policies).
How To Become Successful On YouTube
Follow Your Passion
You need to niche down. What are you good at? What do you want your channel to be about? I chose Trolling and I’ve branched a bit into comedy as well.
Once you have a firm subscriber base of, let’s say, 15,000 subscribers (a lot, I know, but that’s just a number out of a hat), then you can branch off into things that are a bit off topic because many people will get to like you, and not just your particular topic/niche.
Whether that be every day or once a week, if you wish to grow you must upload videos! with good consistency, Good videos at that. I’d rather watch a quality video once a week, than a poor video every day. Many say set a schedule. Meaning, upload every Wednesday at 10 am. That’s generally when I upload, but I’ll sometimes upload another video during the week. Always remember consistency is key to success on Youtube.
Don’t Run For Money
If you started your YouTube channel for the sake of money, you most likely won’t last unless you understand you won’t make much for 3 years or so. Don’t get me wrong, If you really want to make Youtube as a primary source of income, then it is a risky move. You need to work hard a lot to provide quality content.
Don’t focus on what you can’t control. Meaning, you can control how many videos you upload to your channel and their quality. You can control the SEO you put into each video and how catchy the title and thumbnail is
You can’t control your amount of subscribers or the number of views you receive. Of course, you want to use certain statistics like video views and adjust your SEO, title, thumbnail, and marketing if you think that can be improved.
Target Latest Events
I advice you people to put the most current events or trending content but always under your Base category of the channel, Let us say if you have a tech related channel, you ought to upload the latest events from the tech category itself but not from sports or entertainment category.
So if there’s something current in your niche, make a video about it just may pop up in the suggested side of another video.
